Why should you stay calm?
It is said that no difficulty is beyond human capabilities. However, these capabilities can only be unleashed with a calm mind. Sounds good? Let’s move further and understand why is it important to stay calm, even if lemon is the theme of what you are getting from life.
What is calmness?
Calmness can be described as a state of mind which is stable when you have a difficult situation. Difficult situations can often overpower your ability to think clearly. When we experience an annoying or complicated problem, the first reaction that we come up with is Anger. Let me tell you; this reaction “Anger” is your biggest enemy.
Anger is the enemy of calmness
It just freezes all your brian’s abilities to see what’s right in front of you. All you see is anger and quick relief from what’s bothering you. Since anger is short-term, all the solutions that come out of with an agitated mind are short-term. Many a time, you might have thought of a better alternative solution when your mind becomes calm. And therefore, it is, anger the enemy of calmness.
Calmness, when and how
When things gets annoying, you can try to be stable. First and foremost, understand the problem instead of reacting in a manner without thinking. Second, comes your speech. Remember the percept; actions speak louder than words. When you are in a difficult situation, make sure your brain works before your tongue.
Remember, calmness is your surface for the world to know, initially. Like an ocean which is calm on the surface but inside it is all getting worked-up. However, never forget that tsunami comes in the ocean. Therefore, first, make yourself relaxed on the exterior, and then on the interior.
Calmness vs Anger
Calmness is a barometer for mental strength. I understand that initially, things might seem to be going out of hands, but trust me, it will all normalize as soon as you make it.
Your calmness shows your inner strength and your capability of managing things in a better way. It helps you analyze the circumstances and see beyond what everyone sees. After you have analyzed, you are definitely going to have a choice in terms of solutions. Remember, it was always you who was stopping yourself from getting the right answer. The answer was always in front of you.
Talking about difficult people
You might have seen that people generally give up on a calm person. This is because it is typically challenging to convince a calm person who is in no hurry to conclude. Such kind of a person thinks, analyzes, and then responds. They are beyond people telling them anything. There is focus featuring on their mentality. These are the ace of concentrated energy. However, as you react impulsively frequently, out of habit, it drains your physical and mental strength. It decreases your mental aptitude to think and work. Thus making you feel drained and tired, with a lack of interest to work.
Obviously, it is not easy to be calm in each and every situation. But this is something that comes out of practice. This practice gets transformed into a habit. Further, this habit makes an undue influence on your personality. This attracts and not repels positive people and situations.
Remember, it is always said, “still water runs deeps”.
