Before we jump to the interpretation of the title, let’s look at the following questions:

  • Have you ever come across the feeling of being left behind?
  • Have you experienced a ‘dead end’ situation, with no option left to choose?
  • Have you ever felt that you gave your 100% into something, and failed the first time and then left trying?
  • Is there any decision that you believe, you would have made better than your parents or anyone else?

In all of the above cases, you might have experienced a feeling of ‘dead end’. In today’s FOMO environment, where the struggle begins the day you are born and never ends, there are thoughts like ‘dead end’ hovering in our minds. We fear that we would have no option left, even when the option is right in front of us.

Mushkil doesn’t guarantee Positive Results

Many millennials are comfortably in their rooms, studying. Some of them have marriage pressure, some have scoring pressure, others have subject dislike pressure.

Being born and brought up in a conservative business Marwadi family, I had limited choices. The reason being a girl. I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer during my school days which changed to joining NCC in college and preparing for the Indian Army to completing my Masters in Economics jumping to get enrolled in Law College. I actually had quite a journey. Going through so many changes itself is a challenge. And Marriage was the only important thing on my family cards hence my options were limited, and resources were restricted. Today, I am a lawyer, working at the High Court in Mumbai and Delhi at consumer commission.

The point is, I excepted the change at every stage. And, at every stage, I overcome “Mushkils” or hardships, but it didn’t guarantee success. Instead, success lies in keep trying. In fact, to keep trying is success. There has been a point in my life, that I have been criticized for my choices, with no support but ultimatums. The only thing that has always kept me going is that I took every end of one thing as the start of something new. I never stopped trying.

It’s Alright to Change your Route

Numerous times you might have been cautioned to make the right choices or decisions. An equally limited number of times one would support you if you change your course of action or route midway. You must ever feel rejected because you made a mistake, or you couldn’t achieve it in a set time limit from society or you or our family. You can remind yourself, what is important is to keep going.

How can the mystery of the dead-end be solved?
